About Me

Letter to Students and Parents:

My name is Stephanie Gomez and I am your student's 7th grade Social Studies teacher. I am very excited to get this school year started and to get to know each and everyone of my students! I would like to introduce myself to both parents and students.

I am a life-long resident of Sleepy Hollow, NY where as a young child I was always surrounded by a rich historical culture. My love for history was sparked by my father, my grandfather, and all the historical places that surrounded me like the Old Dutch Church, Philipsburg Manor, Sunnyside, and Lyndhurst. I enjoy all types of outdoor and athletic activity but also love to relax with my cats Molly and Spanky. I graduated from Sleepy Hollow High School in 2006 and went to Binghamton University where I received my Bachelor's Degree in History in 2010. After a few long years in Financal Services, I decided to make a serious change and return to school and work hard for my Masters in Adolescent Education from Pace University.

After heading back to my alma mater of Sleepy Hollow, I got to learn just how smart kids can be and I was inspired to help them learn and become the adults they're meant to become. I can't wait to engage in challenging discussions with my students and have the opportunity to see them develop as historians. I am privileged to be able to be a part of your student's life and hope that my classroom is an exciting, interesting, and safe place for them to be themselves.

Sincerely,

Ms. Stephanie Gomez
